The South Bay is known popularly know as Silicon Valley. The cities of Santa Clara, Milpitas, Cupertino, Mountain View and Sunnyvale are home to major tech companies including Apple, Google, eBay, Facebook, and Yahoo!. The majority of the people in the South Bay live in the San Jose metropolitan area. Despite its new renowned tech atmosphere, the South Bay remains the home to smaller suburbs like Gilroy, know for its small town vibe and famous annual garlic festival.
